SUNRISE and SUNSET ENJOYMENT
What is more inspiring? A sunrise or a sunset? The beauty and awe inspiring tranquility that surrounds a body in this moment of the day is unparalleled. A good cup of coffee in your hand as you welcome in the day, or a fine vintage of vino as you reflect on the day you just enjoyed only enhances the experience of the moment at hand. Whether you are welcoming a new day or ushering out the one that just passed, enjoy the moment of a sunrise and sunset!

From sunrise to sunset, let the LORD’S name be praised! ~Psalm 113:3
SUNRISE and SUNSET ENJOYMENT: Tranquility and Nature
Tranquility descends like a shroud around one as the peaceful stillness filled with natures wonderous harmony sounds off engulfing your senses. From the monotonous lapping of waves to shore, repetitively washing ocean debris and shells, to the continual chirp of birds in a forest wood harmonizing with the creak and groans of trees as they sway in the breeze, sunrises and sunsets are in perpetual motion along with all of nature continuing their cyclical process of daily evolution.
Take a moment to reflect all around yourself. Hear your breath as you inhale and exhale. Center yourself around what is most important in your thoughts. LIVE! Let the worries go and embrace the moment you are living in THAT moment.
Can you feel the breeze or the humidity? Are you able to smell the crisp ocean or scents of the woods? Can you hear the quiet sounds of the earth surrounding you…a bird chirping, the quiet rustling of the leaves? Close your eyes and allow your senses to guide your quiet enjoyment of this event. That is God speaking to your soul!
The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy. ~Psalm 65:8
SUNRISE and SUNSET ENJOYMENT: Meditation in
How many times have you sat gazing at a sunrise or a sunset and wondered how many other people, right at that same exact moment have their eyes fixed on the sun and are seeing exactly what you are seeing? Somehow in that exact moment of peace and tranquility the stolen moment seems like your own, not a shared one.
INSPIRATIONAL TRAVEL ADVENTURES – CLICK ON THIS LINK TO PIN IT #30
It’s interesting that we make time for sunrises and sunsets on vacation, yet in everyday life the busyness of life disrupts our ability to absorb this special moment that fleetingly happens twice in a day. Shame on us for not carving out the time to indulge in God’s handiwork. HE paints the sky solely for our enjoyment.
It is such a shame to waste even one of these precious moments by not enjoying the gift of this view. I am just as much an offender of letting life get in the way of this treasured daily occurrence as the next person. We rush through our daily routine only to hurry home to be able to repeat the routine again the next day.
SUNRISE and SUNSET ENJOYMENT: While on Vacation
On vacation, however, the daily grind is not present, so a sunrise and a sunset become a priority along with a morning cup of favorite coffee or in the evening sipping a favorite pinot. Whether taking it all in on a cruise ship deck somewhere in the Caribbean, or a trip to a romantic park overlooking a marina, take time to reflect and enjoy the view!
Next time you are enjoying that beautiful sunrise or sunset take a moment to reflect on the fact that each one of these moments is unique and custom made for you! God is amazing in the fact that He always meets you right where you are at, especially it seems, when you slow down enough to hear Him or feel Him near. He is there! Each time…. It is amazing! He is painting that sky each time…JUST FOR YOU!
Where is your favorite place to view a SUNRISE or a SUNSET? The beach? The mountains? Your back deck? A favorite park or scenic view? I’d really like to know!

I love the peacefulness of them both. Enjoying nature and taking a few minutes to slow down and absorb your surroundings can really do a lot for mental health.

This is a good point, we need to remind ourselves to take in the beauty of the world in our everyday lives. I think I prefer sunsets 🙂

I’m a huge fan of sunsets and sunrises. I have an entire photo gallery of them that I’ve captured on our travels; however, many of my favorites are from my own backyard. This pandemic has reminded me that we don’t necessarily need to pack up and go so much as beauty surrounds us every day.
heather J Jandrue
These are beautiful. I love watching the sunset and rise over the ocean.
Cindy Moore
I’m always so inspired by the beauty of a sunrise or sunset! These are all gorgeous.
Alexis Farmer
How beautiful! I love both sunrises and sunsets.
Holly
Beautiful pictures! I love to see both, especially when I am traveling! Some of my favorites were on some of the cruises I have gone on. My all-time favorite sunrise was at the Grand Canyon and it was snowing.. very rare to see both!
Amanda
Beautiful photos and beautiful thoughts! I love the Bible verse you included. There’s just something so beautiful about sunrise and sunset each day.
Marianne
Amazing photos. I love sunsets. They never get old… and I could photograph them over and over! Its rare that I get to see the sunrise, as I am NOT a morning person! LOL.. I see sunrises ONLY after a nightshift when I am driving home… too tired to be appreciative!
Karen
Such lovely sunrises and sunsets – perfect way to start and end the day.
heather J Jandrue
I love both! Each is special in its own way.
Holly
I love both a sunrise and sunset equally.. we have the most gorgeous colors all year long! Beautiful pictures!
Misskorang
I love both sunset and sunrise. Whenever and wherever I get the chance I’ll soak them in and marvel at the awe and wonder of the Great architecture of this marvelous fireball. I always feel so vulnerable and at the same time appreciate that I am a very small part of this universe but somehow God loves me so much he sends the giant fireball everyday to light my path. The sun somehow reminds me of my Great God of wonders and his love and provision for me.
Barbara Robinson
Beautifully described and I totally agree!
Tiffany
I love both! Especially in the mountains or on a beach!!!
Sabrina DeWalt
I have always been a sunset person, mostly because I don’t have to wake up for it. Since we have changed our lifestyle, and I have started waking up earlier in the day, I absolutely love the sunrise. The fact that it evokes the feeling of a new beginning and excitement for what’s to come makes the sunrise edge out the sunset in my mind…just a little bit.
Barbara Robinson
I agree! It’s always hard to get out of my warm cocoon in the mornings, but I am never disappointed to enjoy the promise of each new day, especially when it is so gorgeously custom painted just for me and my perspective each time (that’s what it feels like)!
Jill DeMasi
Beautiful thoughts! I love taking pictures of sunsets while I am on vacation. My favorite one I ever saw was in Captiva Island in Florida. Simply amazing!
Cecile
I love both. I was feeling so relax just by reading you blog. Thank you!
Linda Egeler
I am a tried and true night owl, so many sunrises pass me by. However, I’m all about that sunset with a glass of vintage vino!
Elizabeth
I love sunrises and sunsets! My favorite place to watch them is in a mountain home overlooking a lake.
Debbie
Love the beauty of both! There’s something about the anticipation of a sunrise…
Keirsten
What a fun question because there’s no wrong answer. Both are beautiful so it’s a win either way haha. I’ve seen the best sunrises & sunsets in Cuba TBH. Even compared to some of the other islands it was just incredible. Beautiful photos!
Chelsea
I love sunsets over the beach and ocean. The way the sunlight reflects on the water is stunning.
Sandi Barrett
I used to be blessed to watch the sun rise over our school every morning when heading into work. Sadly, not any more.
Melissa | It's a Joyous Journey
Our Oklahoma sunsets are gorgeous every day. But one I’ll always remember was in Aruba when my husband and I made a point to go to the beach and do a timelapse video one evening. I have to be honest…I don’t see the sunrise very often. 🙂
Barbara Robinson
Time-lapse video…what a GREAT idea! How inventive!!!
Tiffany
These are absolutely breathtaking!
