SPRING BREAK BEACH ESCAPE
When the hints of spring begin to reveal themselves to us in the North, the beaches of the Southern US begin to call to us for a visit! Spring break typically means a trip to the ocean somewhere warm. Join us on our spring break beach escape!

SPRING BREAK BEACH ESCAPE
Is there any better way to spend your days than relaxing in fresh spring air made wild by the ocean’s mist with sunshine abundant on a beach?
When the opportunity presents itself for an escape from our hectic lives to run towards the sunshine with family on vacation…GO! It becomes much needed in the midst of our busy lifestyles. You know the moment…the one where you actually take a deep breathe and slow down the pace of life with a sigh! Yes…claim that for yourself!
Now that our eldest son is establishing his professional career, we seized this opportunity with our youngest son during his college spring break to escape to the beaches of Myrtle Beach to spring break with him! Spring football will soon be upon us for him and he will be VERY busy again. We treasure this time when we can spend a week together catching up on all of life together AND watches the March Madness Tournaments together! GO MSU! 🙂
The beaches of South Carolina have typically been our spring break venues along with an occasional spring break cruise over the kids school breaks now and again. Many adjustment lie ahead for us all! Spring breaks will look different I’m sure for our futures! As long as we each do not forget those most important TOP 10 THINGS TO PACK for vacation, all should go as planned!
“I do believe it’s time for another adventure.”

We arrived late in the evening on our SPRING BREAK BEACH ESCAPE so right away I documented how lovely our room accommodations were presented to us here at our timeshare rental located at the northern end of the beach in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. ENJOY a tour of our 6th floor, 1 bedroom condo! A 2 bedroom option was also available, but we opted for this accommodation this time.
SPRING BREAK BEACH ESCAPE
ACCOMODATIONS
This property has many cool features. There are 2 outdoor pools with one being a lazy river and also indoor pool options with hot tubs at both locations, a 6th floor terrace with heated tables (located right off our balcony), a fitness room complete with weights for our athlete traveling with us, and super convenient 4 levels of parking.
6th floor terrace with heated tables for your enjoyment and star gazing at night!
The hotel sits kitty-corner to the ocean. Parking is located on Levels P1-P4 which was convenient for stashing our beach chairs and kites in the trunk of the car instead of hauling them up to the condo each day. We actually appreciated this convenience better than an adjacent parking structure across the street.
This timeshare rental is a newer property than our usual accommodations down the beach to the south off the boardwalk. Last trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, our vehicle was broken into at that previously mentioned monitored parking garage for that other property. Even with this unfortunate event, we really enjoy Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and it’s beaches. So many really fond memories overshadow this one minor negative episode! You can read about those previous trips by clicking here MEMORABLE MYRTLE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA or MYRTLE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA SHARK TEETH ADVENTURE.
So, this trip we decided to switch things up and try a new property. Upon check-in many unusual different (perhaps due to COVID?) policies of this property were NOT explained to us at all. Naturally, we assumed that the process would be the same at this resort as it is part of the same timeshare company we usually book through. Unfortunately, we discovered these new policies as questions popped up, like garbage removal, towel exchange, searching for property grills, etc.
The odd policies were not a deal breaker, just odd…you take out your own garbage, no grills available, the roof top terrace with heated tables closed from 9pm-9am. The perfect viewing time for star gazing found the terrace closed and the towel exchange policy was strange.
We found it odd that pool towels were able to be exchanged daily, but daily room towel exchanges for bath towels and kitchen towels were not offered, as we have experienced with various other properties that we have enjoyed within this same timeshare company. Instead, one courtesy towel exchange was offered mid-week along with laundry detergent to encourage guests to wash their own towels in room.
On vacation, I’m not really interested in washing hotel towels. Perhaps this property just operates differently. It would have been good to know at the time of check-in. The staff was very courteous and polite at all times. They did provide us with our requests of towel exchanges after a brief discussion. It was just an unexpected strange policy.
The fitness room had equipment not in operational function at first. We called the front desk to inquire and they immediately sent maintenance to investigate. Apparently, a fuse needed to be re-set for the equipment to operate with electricity. They were very quick and efficient in this repair.
We have been spoiled at other properties with balconies that provided direct ocean views along with glorious sunrise and sunsets. Direct ocean views were not present from our balcony only partial views from the 6th floor and unless one was on one of the top few floors on the sun facing side of the building direct sunrise and sunset views were only present from the beach.
Overall this was a great experience here. We were looking for a quieter experience than right off the boardwalk as we’ve had in previous years. We also wanted to distance ourselves from crowds and experience a quieter beach away from the majority of spring breakers. My husband was just as successful with his shark teeth finds too! This resort did provide us with what we were looking for this year. If one understand the whole resort picture though, it helps to make an informed decision prior to travel!

SPRING BREAK BEACH ESCAPE
BEACH TIME!
My goal on this spring break beach escape is to relax, rest, and recharge. Lots of long walks and deep breaths of clean ocean are on the agenda!
The temperatures started in the low 60s, but climbed from there. The wind died down and the sunshine provided us with a golden glow!
While I can sit at the beach for hours and hours, such is not the case for the men in my life. If they do not have some kind of activity to occupy them, they become bored. They need to be in motion. They threw the football and frisbee. They flew 3 different kites of various sizes and degree of difficulty, spent time on jogs down the shore and searched many hours for shark teeth or perfect Carolina shells.
The ocean was great for play too! No snorkeling this trip though. It was perfect for a cool down when the heat of the day became strong. Our weather was very enjoyable with humid, light breezes and warm temperatures.

SPRING BREAK BEACH ESCAPE
RELAXATION
One of the main goals for this trip was to just relax. We purposely did not plan a long list of activities. It has been mostly about NOT having plans. Sitting still, sleeping late, seclusion, and quiet. A day of shopping and wandering through shops was also enjoyed.
Recharging our batteries is essential. The ocean has many healing qualities, tranquility is amongst one of the most important. The ocean possesses this magical quality to transition our stress from a shroud around us into a cloud lifting to float it away.
Long walks on the ocean trigger long talks with God for me too! This time of serenity and peacefulness always passes quickly as I get lost in conversations with God. This unparalleled bonding time of spiritual growth is treasured.
I am a magnetic to this place. Deep cleansing breaths of ocean air fill our lungs with peace and joy! Love the ocean!

SPRING BREAK BEACH ESCAPE
TRANQUILITY at SUNRISE!
SUNRISE…my favorite time of the day! FOG! We experienced a lot of early morning hazy fog! There is no more peaceful moment that I can begin to explain than this exact moment. Do you enjoy a SUNRISE or SUNSET? I set the clock on the coffee pot so it will be brewed when I wake up! Nothing is worse than trying to figure out a new coffee pot from a rental condo in the dark when you are not fully awake. I don’t work well with cobwebs in the brain in early morning when the coffee isn’t flowing yet! Enjoy early morning coffee out on the balcony, allow the soothing sounds of the ocean within your soul over steaming java… What a great way to greet the day!
I read on the balcony, enjoy the moist, humid air, and soak up the warmth of the southern climate. Complete tranquility! So amazingly great! Love my mornings! Walking is also a great activity once I’ve had my slow wake up with coffee! 10am works! It is easy to get lost in a book or music with the headphones on and go for a long tranquil walk! Total relaxation!
These precious moments are priceless to me. It provides me with those stolen chunks of time to feed my need for INNER STILLNESS. This is necessary every day!

SHOPPING & PEOPLE WATCHING
Who doesn’t like to people watch and relax? Never a dull moment here! Boardwalk shopping is usually available in these oceanside resort tourist towns. Everybody needs a T-shirt or a hat from their vacation, right! I look for unique picture frames or local artistry too! It is so much fun to look to see what others are finding as the got-to-have trinket item. My husband and the boys usual pick out new board shorts.

SPRING BREAK BEACH ESCAPE?
SECOND SPRING BREAK WITHOUT OLDEST CHILD
Now that our oldest son is settling into his professional career and taking vacations is not an option just yet, we again are traveling without him. It saddens me, but such is life! Apparently, we did such a great job raising him that he has taken flight! It is such a conundrum! We are over joyed at him achieving his goals, but miss him immensely! I know! Job well done and all of that, but still…the transitory time is not easy for a Mom’s heart. Change is hard, but necessary. It is his time to be independent of us and we know that!
We are very proud of our sons and actually LIKE spending as much time with them as they are able to give us! We raised exceptional human beings that are certainly flying the nest!
“Take as many vacations as you can. You can always make money. You can’t always make memories.”

SPRING BREAK BEACH ESCAPE
RELAXATION & TRANQUIL SUNSETS
We tend to enjoy the sunset pre-dinner time along with a cocktail hour on our private balcony or out on public spaces maybe around the pool playing cards. The spectacular sunsets at the ocean set the mood for a most enjoyable evening! We have been so fortunate to have excellent weather on our vacations and fabulous experiences with sunsets! Do you enjoy a beautiful sunset daily or just on vacation?

SPRING BREAK BEACH ESCAPE
FAMILY BONDING
Time…time with family is so precious. Our youngest accompanied us this year solo. I’m sure he enjoyed chasing the sun with us and I know he loves going on adventures too! That time in life is quickly approaching where he is going to want to branch out and start having his own adventures. So this opportunity to spend quality time with him was very precious to us. We enjoy him very much and he has that wonderful ability to make us laugh at his antics and humorous personality. He has great one-liners, yes, quite the comedian! Spring break was wonderful with him!

It was so relaxing! I could use another week, already!

We are spending our spring break at the beach! Great way to relax! Thanks for sharing the review!

Looks like the timeshare had it’s challenges, but was overall a great experience! Glad you got to relax and enjoy that beautiful beach!
Tiffany
I would love a beach vacation! And Myrtle Beach looks perfect!
Megan
That property looks really cool! I would love to have a lazy river 🙂
Barbara Robinson
It was a nice change of pace to our normal accommodations!

There are some amazing places for spring break, but as i am getting older the quietness is important to me too.. looks like you are finding some beautiful places!
Barbara Robinson
Yes. It’s funny how quiet has become important to us over the exciting night life.
Sandra Whitmore
We have stayed in Myrtle Beach condos many times and always enjoy having an entire apartment. I was surprised at all the “stuff” in the sand on the beach.
Barbara Robinson
Further North at Cherry Grove Beach in N. Myrtle Beach the beaches were white sand without all the shells. Further south less shells, but where we were lots of turbulent wave action brought a lot of material up on shore from the ocean bottom! This makes my husband happy as he hunts sharks teeth on his walks.
lisa Manderino
We feel the same way with our kids! They are going to grow up way too fast!
Maya
Fun places for Spring break. Love the beach.
Keirsten
I’ve yet to visit myrtle beach even though I’ve been to the Carolinas haha. Looks like you still had a nice time even if you couldn’t all be there together.
Angela
That is a lot of shells – wow. I have been wanting to adventure on more beaches on the East Coast – we were in NC a few years ago and loved Carollina Beach. No Cal beaches here on the West coast are so cold most of the year and teh water from Alaskas current is freezing! This lookes lovely
Tricia Snow
A beach escape is always on my list!
Melissa Jones
There are so many reasons to travel! It’s such an important part of my life and my life with my family!
Larissa
Great beach escape!
Sorry, to hear your older son was not able to join. I can’t wait when we all get back to normal. And we will soon!
Sabrina DeWalt
As the kids become adults, it becomes increasingly difficult to vacation together. Enjoy the time you have left.
Carolyn
How wonderful to be able to spend spring break on the beach! It sounds like a lovely trip.
Kendra
What a fun beach escape for Spring Break. I’m totally like the guys here where I have to play at the beach (usually in the water). I’m not too keen on just laying on the beach. Now…when camping in the mountains…I totally chill. haha
Maria Gustafsson
What I wouldn’t do for a beach getaway right now…and I love that they’ve lifted the mask mandate there, that would put it on my list of places to go!
Marianne
I would love to be on a beach right now… Your vacation sounds like you had fun… even with the strange policies that were in place. Too bad your oldest could not be there.
Danielle Ardizzone
Looks like fun! This year, my kids and I have opposite weeks for spring break so we aren’t doing anything special. I wish we could go somewhere beachy!
Kristin
I love how empty that beach is. Just looks like the beach (and shells) go on for miles!
Tiffany
We all need beach time again! Looks like a lovely place to be!
Cindy Moore
How beautiful and peaceful looking! I’m so ready for some beach time. It’s been way too long.
Tiffany
I love both sunsets and sun rises. Great way to enjoy coffee or a nightcap 😊
Diana
It sounds like you all had a nice time! I’ve never been to Myrtle Beach before. Thanks for this info!
Terra Booth
This looks like a great escape! I love the beautiful beach! I cannot wait until we are able to travel again.

As an almost new resident of South Carolina, this was a very helpful review as I plan to vacation at Myrtle Beach in the near future. Thanks for sharing.
Larissa Li
Sounds like a fabulous trip despite of anything. Sorry to hear your oldest son couldn’t join you. Hopefully next trip will work better for all of you
Stephanie
The beach looks amazing. Some of those Covid policies did seem a little strange, but I guess a lot of resorts are still figuring it out. It’s always nice to get away and unplug. Thanks for all the info. And Go Green 😉
Cindy
There is nothing better than a beach trip. Adding kite flying only adds to the enjoyment!
Suzan
The Carolina’s have such beautiful beaches. Gotta have sand between my toes!
Danielle Ardizzone
I prefer quieter resorts as well, but the men in my life prefer more action, lol.
Maya
We are ready for the sand and the sun! Lovely pics!

I’m always down for a beach trip!! LOVE being on the water.
